THIS was really a true VINTAGE STYLE wedding, with real antique pieces, real vintage cars and a real haunted house for the photo location!
It all begins at Simone & Paul’s farm in Echuca.
When I arrived, Paul was still out on the farm & the boys were still making last minute fixes to their muscle wedding cars. Paul told me that if we wanted close up shots of the actual wedding car, we’d have to wear earplugs. He wasn’t kidding – the boys had taken 2 weeks and many hours to transform a rusted out Hudson paddock bomb into the hottest wedding car out, with a drag engine & rabbit trap for a gearstick!
The guys quickly shaved and turned into 1920′s gangster style groomsmen. Simone & Paul’s two gorgeous little boys absolutely stole the show with their cute outfits. Simone’s beautiful bridesmaids were busy getting ready in town and wore pretty mushroom/mauve floor length dresses, with gypsum for their bouquets. Simone looked relaxed & stunning in her simple but elegant sheath style wedding dress.
Paul roared into the ceremony driving the Hudson, soon followed by Simone in a red HOT Mustang. The ceremony was held on a little island on Paul’s parent’s property, and Simone had decorated the trees with white paper lanterns, flowers, streamers and chandeliers. She even set up a little spot with fishing rods for the kids to play with during the ceremony. Right in the middle of the ceremony, Paul yelled out and grabbed the fishing rod off the little guys, they caught a REAL FISH!!
The beautiful white marquee was a great backdrop for Simone’s gorgeous antique touches, not to mention the stunning wedding cake.
Simone had sourced all of her antique props from Paul’s parent’s vast collection, and told me that the little cottage where we shot their portraits was haunted. As soon as I walked in, it took my breath away. Simone said “You saw the bedroom, didn’t you?”. It was just beautiful, but with a totally strange feeling. I’m so lucky I get to do this stuff!!
